The Big Thames Tidy kicks off a month of exciting river celebrations in the capital

Rallying Londoners for two of their famous clean-up events on August 31st and September 1st, Thames21 joins the celebrations of the mighty river as the capital prepares to go Totally Thames.

Londoners are invited to participate in the Big Thames Tidy and give the beloved River Thames a final sweep for unsightly litter to coincide with the kick-off of Totally Thames. People of all ages and abilities can join Thames21 on the shores of the Thames and enjoy a truly unique perspective of the river and learn more about this vital waterway.

Being part of Totally Thames (formerly known as Thames Festival) Thames21 will get stuck in at two locations and help the river to get rid of some of the rubbish that still troubles this iconic stretch of water.

There’s no need to pre-book and participants can help out as little or as much as they like, with full equipment, supervision and support provided.  Please wear old clothes and sturdy footwear that you do not mind getting dirty, and which are suitable for the weather conditions on the day.

The Big Thames Tidy takes place at the Gabriel’s Wharf foreshore on August 31st from 10:30am-1pm and on September 1st at Newcastle Draw Dock at Isle of Dogs from 11am-1:30pm.
