Lea River Park

Lea River Park overview mapThe Lower Lea Valley is a unique place with a great history of industry and invention. It has seen many changes over the last few centuries, and will continue to do so during our lifetime. One of those changes over the next few years will be the development of a new park - the Lea River Park.

Thames21 were engaged in 2008 by the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation to provide a series of community engagement activities on and around the Lea River Park project area. Events have included consultation sessions for people to find out more about the project, family treasure hunts, community clean-ups of the local environment, walks and cycle training along the River Lea area. A 'Community Board' has also been established with representatives from local residential areas, business and interest groups to share ideas and suggestions on the park's design.

Thames21 continue to provide activities and events aimed at making the Lea River Park the right park for the communities that will be the future users of the park. A dedicated website has also been created where users can download the latest consultation and information packs, as well as learn more about how they can influence the design process. www.leariverpark.org
