Thames21 partner with Feel Good Drinks for the Cleaner Thames Challenge 2008

Environmental charity Thames21 will deliver the third Cleaner Thames Challenge this year from 18 – 21 September and has announced a unique partnership with The Feel Good Drinks Company highlighting the feel good effect from volunteering to help improve the environment.

All volunteers taking part over the four day clean-up will be given a FREE Feel Good Drink and an organic cotton bag, exclusively designed by Vimrod, courtesy of the guys at Feel Good as part of their national ‘Bags of Feelgoodness’ on-pack promotion.

Team members from Feel Good Drinks will be getting down and dirty with the Thames21 team too as they volunteer to help remove some of the litter on the shore at the Isle of Dogs.

Thames21 is London’s leading waterways charity and mobilises thousands of volunteers every year to clean-up waterside grot-spots, remove graffiti and create new habitats for wildlife. Thames21 aim to transform neglected and littered waterways into areas that everyone can use and enjoy by encouraging all Londoner's to treat their waterways with care and respect.

Feel Good by name and Feel Good by nature, the company’s ambition is to spread ‘feelgoodness’ throughout everything it does. Whether that’s developing a brand new range of drinks, packed full of good stuff; making drinkers smile with their marketing activity or giving each team member 5 extra ‘feelgoodness’ days off each year, to help out a charity that means something to them!

James Aldous, Marketing Manager, Thames21, said:
“Partnering with Feel Good Drinks is a great way for us to give something back to the volunteers who will be giving up their time to help out at the Cleaner Thames Challenge this year. In addition to helping improve the environment, one of the main personal benefits from volunteering at a Thames21 clean-up is the ‘feel good effect’ you get knowing that you’ve given something back and helped improve the London that we live and work in. What better way to enjoy this feeling than with a Feel Good Drink at the end. “

Libby Wybrow, Marketing Manager, Feel Good Drinks, said:
“Last year some of the team spent 2 feelgoodness days, extra days given to the team to volunteer for a charity of their choice, working with Thames21 on their Cleaner Thames Challenge. In total over 25,000 plastic bags were cleared. We thought this was rubbish and wanted to run an activity which would see us doing our bit to help, in a way that enables our consumers to join in and makes them smile!”

The Cleaner Thames Challenge takes place at the following times:

Thursday 18 September 9.00am - 12.00pm
Friday 19 September 9.30am - 12.30pm
Saturday 20 September 10.00am - 1.00pm
Sunday 21 September 10.30am - 1.30pm
