THAMES21 JOINS 'HEROES' CREATOR TIM KRING AND NOKIA'S 'CONSPIRACY FOR GOOD'.

Monday July 19, 2010

Spectacular live event on London’s foreshore encourages others to give their time to improve the environment this August.

Thames21, London’s leading waterways charity, joined the new social benefit entertainment experience, Conspiracy For Good (CFG) on Saturday 17 July for a live event in front of the Tower of London.

Thames21 joined the experience created by Emmy award winning storyteller and “Heroes” creator Tim Kring, and powered by Nokia’s Ovi platform, which allows participants to become part of the CFG story and find tools and clues to move the narrative forward both in the online and real worlds.

As part of the CFG story, the character ‘Nadirah’ arrived at Tower Pier after a high speed boat chase through London on the River Thames. As Nadirah arrived at the foreshore she merged into the hundreds of people gathered for the Foreshore Explore event. Participants at the event were having their finds identified by archaeologists as part of the annual National Archaeology Weekend, facilitated by Thames21 and the Tower of London.

As part of the CFG ethos, those that are inspired to give their time for good can do so this August with Thames21’s Cleaner Thames Challenge which takes place across London from 12 – 15 August. Volunteers are invited to join in the events and help clean-up four sites along the River Thames as part of this annual initiative coordinated by Thames21.

About The Conspiracy For Good
The Conspiracy For Good, created by Tim Kring (“Heroes”) and powered by Nokia’s Ovi Platform is a global movement for change driven by a story, a legendary narrative that blurs the lines between fiction and reality, compelling the audience to become a part of the plot and adventure with real world outcomes.  Every participant has the ability to impact the outcome of this story and effect positive social change. This pilot “Read the Signs” combines story, community, alternate reality gaming (ARG), music, and social cause and  will be played out on web sites, mobile devices, at live meet up interactive theatre events in London and, ultimately creating social and educational change in Africa for the Chataika Basic School, located in the village of Chataika in eastern Zambia. More information can be found at www.conspiracyforgood.com.
