Thames Festival 2009 | making music out of litter!

Thames Festival 2009Thames21 made a real impact (and a lot of noise) at the Thames Festival this year! We were joined by percussionist Kevin Hathway and The Elastic Band musicians to help bring litter to life in the shape of musical instruments which were played by festival-goers throughout the festival weekend.

The musicians - helped by willing members of the public - used litter items that were found on recent Thames21 volunteer clean-up events along the River Thames. They included plastic bottles, shopping trolleys, cones, bins, beer kegs and a saucepan (!) and were all used to entertain the audience passing by at Potters Fields between City Hall and Tower Bridge.
