Companies set to race for charity in the Great River Race 2006

Legal & General Group PLC, McGraw Hill and The Savoy - A Fairmont Hotel are preparing to race for Thames21 in the Great River Race 2006, Europe's most prestigious traditional boat race.

The race takes place on Saturday 16 September, the first day of the Mayor's Thames Festival, and staff from each company have signed up to race an impressive 26 miles along the River Thames from Ham, Richmond to the Isle of Dogs.

Debbie Leach, Chief Executive of Thames21 said, 'We are delighted that Legal & General Group PLC, McGraw Hill and The Savoy - A Fairmont Hotel will be racing for Thames21 in the Great River Race. As the water equivalent to the London Marathon it promises to be a tough but rewarding race and we want to thank all the staff involved for their commitment and enthusiasm.'
