A view of the river – A guided walk on the Isle of the Dogs

November 27 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Join Thames21 to find out how the river on the Isle of Dogs has changed in recent years and how to protect it.

The Thames has undergone an incredible recovery: considered ‘biologically dead’ to 1957, now home to venomous sharks and seahorses. Yet it faces challenges, from sewage discharges to plastic pollution, and remains underused by Londoners.

Thames21 wants to better understand how the river is used by locals on the Isle of Dogs, to hear what locals want from the river and to offer ways to support residents protect their river.

Our walk will talk about the river wildlife and local potted history as well as how to get involved. We would also love to hear from those of you with local knowledge: this is the time to share it!

The walk starts at the Greenwich Tunnel North, follows the western side of the island and finishes at Sir John McDougal Park, taking approximately 1 hour.
