Join Thames21 to help plant the raingardens on Burns Way and Shelley Crescent.
There are 8 raingardens being built on grass verges on these roads. Raingarden can hold large volumes of surface water which helps reduce flooding. Raingardens also improve water quality and provide biodiversity benefits with plants.
This activity is suitable for anyone over the age of 16. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Please turn up on time as there will be a health and safety briefing.
What to bring
- Warm clothes (including waterproofs)
- A packed lunch
- Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided
- All tools and equipment will be provided (no experience is necessary!)
Hounslow Council, and Thames Water are installing several Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) across Hounslow as part of the Thames Water Strategic Partnership (TWSP).
