Co-Design Workshop 1: Watling and Chandos Park

  • What? Workshop to determine the design of waterways in Watling and Chandos Park to improve the park for people and the environment 
  • Who? Open to all who care about Watling Park or Chandos Park
  • Why Should I Come? To have input on upcoming changes to Watling Park and Chandos Park, with a focus on the Burnt Oak Brook and the Edgware Brook.

Have your say regarding the upcoming changes to both Watling and Chandos Park. During this session, Thames21 will present maps made by communities: these maps contain information about how the park is used, how water behaves and what park users would like to see in the future. This is a key session in the “Co-Design Process” and gives you an opportunity to have a seat at the table when deciding the future of the Edgware and Burnt Oak Brooks.

SCHEDULE

14.00 – 14.45: Summarise Data Collection and Outline Possibilities. the project team will present findings from community mapping (completed in January), technical models and what kinds of options are possible on these two sites.

15.00 – 16.00: Designing Watling Park or Chandos Park Splitting into two groups, attendees will discuss possible designs for the brook in their park. The discussion will contain information about type of work, location, features, aiming to end this discussion with a rough idea of what will be implemented.

16.15 – 16.45: Collate Information The breakout groups will return together and the design ideas will be presented to everyone. Space for final comments and outlining the next steps.

HYRBRID ONLINE EVENT

This will be delivered as a ‘hybrid online event’, if you cannot attend in person you can join via Zoom. You will be able to join either breakout session: Chandos Park or Watling Park. The Zoom link and joining details will be sent to you after signing up via Eventbrite:

This event is part of the Silk Stream Flood Resilience Innovation Project, a 6-year, £6 million project to help tackle the effects of climate change by making space for water, reducing flooding and improving water quality in the Silk Stream catchment for the benefit of communities and the environment.
