Conservation Day at Leyton Jubilee Park, Dagenham Brook
16th October 2018 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
FreeEvent Navigation
Join Thames21, London’s leading waterways charity, to spruce up Leyton Jubilee Park. The Dagenham Brook, flowing through the park, has large amounts of plastic litter in it and woody debris blocking the flow. We will have thigh waders so we can access all areas of the river. Help to create an inviting space for people and wildlife and improve your understanding of rivers, plants and animals at the same time. The focus on today’s event will be:
- removing blockages present in the river channel;
- Removing an invasive plant Buddliea;
- If we have enough people we can also continue constructing steps to improve access to the river.
All welcome and all equipment will be provided. Under 16’s need to be accompanied by a responsible adult. Families are very welcome! Please bring a packed lunch. Tea and Coffee will be provided. Meeting at the park pavillion which is just off Seymour Road.
Looking forward to meeting you.
Best regards,
Billy Coburn
