Conservation Day at Leyton Jubilee Park, Dagenham Brook

December 11 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free

Join Thames21, London’s leading waterways charity, to spruce up  Leyton Jubilee Park. The Dagenham Brook, flowing through the park,  has large amounts of plastic litter in it and woody debris blocking the flow. We will have thigh waders  so we can access all areas of the river. Help to create an inviting space for people and wildlife and improve your understanding of rivers, plants and animals at the same time. The focus on today’s event will be:

1. Removing Japanese Knotweed which has been treated by Thames21, under license from the Environment Agency, earlier in the year;

2. Vegetation management. Cutting some of the lower branches of the tree canopy to allow more light into the river for ground level plants we will be planting during 2019.

All welcome and all equipment will be provided.  Under 16’s need to be accompanied by a responsible adult.   Families are very welcome!  Please bring a packed lunch. Tea and Coffee will be provided.  Meeting at the park pavilion which is just off Seymour Road.

Looking forward to meeting you.

All the best,

Billy Coburn
