Dagenham Brook Conservation Day: Leyton Jubilee Park
December 9 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pmFree
Join Thames21, London’s leading waterways charity, to spruce up Leyton Jubilee Park. The Dagenham Brook, flowing through the park, has large amounts of plastic litter in it and woody debris blocking the flow. We will have thigh waders so we can access all areas of the river. Help to create an inviting space for people and wildlife and improve your understanding of rivers, plants and animals at the same time. The focus on today’s event will be vegetation management and planting a variety of plants around a sculpture to be built by the river bank. The event is scheduled to finish at 1pm, but if we need to finish some planting, you are welcome to help join a couple of us remaining.
The Sculpture is part of the A Tail for Dagenham Brook Project, Poppy Flint and Gemma Seddon are leading on the sculpture. For more information and to collaborate on the project, please contact Poppy and Gemma on https://dagenhambrook.wordpress.com/contact/
