Harefield Project Reedbed on the Grand Union Canal

April 9 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

Join Thames21, Canal River Trust and the Environment Agency as we install reed beds on the Grand Union Canal in Harefield. The reed beds we install will create a sanctuary for young fish from the main channel of the canal. The plants will also increase biodiversity in the area.

All equipment is provided as well tea, coffee and biscuits. If you wish to stay for both the AM and the PM session, please do bring a packed lunch.

Please email billy.coburn@thames21.org.uk if you would like to join this event with your shoe size. We are going to be wading in water which is mostly knee height, but some areas can be as deep as below hip height. I will check my email at 7pm every evening before the events, including Sunday 7th April, confirming we have the correct wader size for everyone.

We will have toilet access kindly offered from the Coy Carp Pub from 10:30 on each day. Look out for the Thames21 branded van in the car park as that is where we will be meeting and kitting up.

Looking forward to seeing you by the canal bank.

All the best,

Billy
