Leyton Jubilee Conservation Day

April 13 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free

Join Thames21, London’s leading waterways charity, to spruce up  Leyton Jubilee Park. The Dagenham Brook, flowing through the park,  has large amounts of plastic litter in it and woody debris blocking the flow. We will have thigh waders  so we can access all areas of the river. Help to create an inviting space for people and wildlife and improve your understanding of rivers, plants and animals at the same time. The focus on today’s event will be:

  1. Sowing wild meadow seeds around the river corridor;
  2. Removing some of the last dead stems of Japanese Knotweed;
  3. Removing Himalayan Balsam, an invasive plant which litters the Lea Valley.

All welcome and all equipment will be provided.  Under 16’s need to be accompanied by a responsible adult.   Families are very welcome!  Please bring a packed lunch. Tea and Coffee will be provided.  Meeting at the park pavilion which is just off Seymour Road.

Looking forward to meeting you.

All the best,

Billy Coburn
