London Rivers Week 2025: Where there’s a weir, there’s a way
June 5 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
Free
Join a geomorphologist (mud/gravel expert) from the Environment Agency on this 2.5 mile walk of the River Wandle from Wilderness Island (nearest stations Hackbridge/Carshalton) to Ravensbury Park (Nearest stations Morden/Belgrave Walk (tram)). We will look at the location of 5 former mill weirs and how their existence has altered the river. Some have been adapted or removed to reduce their impact on the river. Others still await their fate.
