London Rivers Week: Fish Live In Trees!
27th October 2021 @ 10:30 am - 2:00 pm
Do you know what lives in your local river?
Come down and find out!
We’ll be doing wildlife surveys and a river clean up as part of this year’s London Rivers Week. See for yourself how trees in the river provide a fantastic habitat for fish and other wildlife.
Riverside Connections: Walking with Nature from Wembley Park to the Welsh Harp is an exciting project that aims to bring the community closer to the River Brent by linking up several green spaces to create a safe and accessible walking/cycling route. Over the next few months, Thames21 will be transforming 0.5km of your local Brent riverside walkway at Quainton Street Open Space by creating habitat, managing vegetation, doing clean-ups and opening up river views.
Come and join us to help improve your local river and get to meet new people! Everyone is welcome and no experience is necessary. We provide all the tools, equipment and training so you can just turn up and get stuck in.
There will be lots of tasks to do on the day, including clearing litter from River Brent, doing fish surveys along the river and managing paths to make sure the site is accessible to people using the open space. To complete these tasks volunteers will be putting on waders and jumping in the river but there will also be activities to do on the banks for people who don’t want to go into the water.
Please sign up below. Hope to see you there!
Meeting point is at the gate to Quainton Street Open Space (across the road from McDonald’s).
Address: Neasden, London NW10 0BL
