Opening Up Views of the Brook and Habitat Creation in Chandos Park – 07/12/2021
December 7 @ 10:30 am - 2:00 pmFree
SCRUB CLEARENCE IN CHANDOS PARK
Join the volunteering team to help make a difference in your local
community by improving the river for wildlife and for people.
Come to learn some new skills and look after the Edgware Brook.
As part of the ongoing project we are going to be doing scrub clearance events at Chandos park to improve the visibility of the Brook. You might have seen part of the Brook opened up already, and views of the banks improving light and habitat.
We will provide all the tools required, but we need your help to achieve this.
Come along, choose your tool, get stuck in making a difference. There is a task for everyone of all capabilities, if you have any questions please email email@example.com
Connecting with nature has been proven to help with stress and improve wellbeing.
Not only will you be achieving something positive for the environment, and for yourself, but you will also get to see a different side of the park and Brook.
Every time you visit the same place in nature there is some new to see, such as the stunning flower below the Autumn Crocus or different Fungi species which are in bloom at present.
As part of our scrub clearance event, we will be asking people to help us by suggesting art projects we can create, that will benefit the wildlife in the park. For example, we would like to use the wood from the clearance events to build artful bug hotels, artful hibernaculum’s, maybe animal totems, and attractive dead hedges. We want to hear your ideas, members of the public like yourself have lots of great ideas we might be able to incorporate into features along the Brook, to make the river even more attractive to both people, and the wildlife.
The meeting point will be HERE at the RED DOT:
WHAT YOU MIGHT NEED TO KNOW.
Times of the event will be from 1030am -1400pm.
