Restoring Enfield’s Rivers Event – Salmons Brook Walk, River Action Day 22.03.2022

March 22 @ 11:00 am - 2:30 pm

Salmons Brook Walk River Action Day

Thames21 and Enfield Council are teaming up to deliver conservation and restoration events in Enfield, creating cleaner and healthier spaces for wildlife and people.

Join us at the Salmons Brook Walk where we will be holding a river clean-up to improve the health of the Salmons Brook near Montagu Recreation Ground and Edmonton Green Shopping Centre.

The aim of this event is to remove harmful and unsightly rubbish from the Salmons Brook river. We will be doing an in channel river clean-up, removing rubbish and litter. It is extremely beneficial to catch litter and rubbish before it leaves the upper catchment and enters into the Thames and the sea.

Anyone is welcome to join us at this event and no experience or equipment is necessary 🙂

The section of the Salmons Brook Walk is a pathway along the Salmons Brook in the heart of Edmonton. It provides local residents with a dose of nature and creates a lovely alternate route from busy polluted roads. It is a stretch of river that is often heavily burdened with litter and rubbish. Come down and join us for a River Action Day, see for yourselves and help make a difference! By catching this litter in the Salmons Brook, we can stop it before it becomes harmful to life in the River Lea, the Thames and the ocean! Edmonton’s rivers need you.

To complete these tasks volunteers will be putting on waders and jumping in the shallow river, but there will also be lots of activities to do on the banks for people who don’t want to go into the water.

Everyone is welcome and no experience is necessary. We provide all the tools, equipment and training so you can just turn up and get stuck in!

Please sign up below. Hope to see you there!
