Restoring the Burnt Oak Brook- Installation of Large Wood as a River Restoration Measure
8th December 2020 @ 10:30 am - 2:30 pm
RESTORING THE BURNT OAK BROOK- PRACTICAL WORK
You are invited by Thames21 to be part of the solution to improve the Burnt Oak Brook by undertaking practical river enhancements.
The enhancement works will be of natural methods and will involve installing habitat: small wood deflectors, permeable berms, marginal planting, and restoring river bank.
This project works is part of the Urban River Regeneration: Restoring Brent Rivers and Communities Project.
Connect with your local community and share learning on restoring London’s rivers for people and wildlife. Visit river restoration work and hear about re-connecting people with their local river.
This will be co-delivered with local communities through inspiring engagement, knowledge exchange and practical river repair workshops that are designed to develop skills and embed a greater appreciation of the natural environment, whilst building social networks within and between local groups. An important feature of this project is the build-up of knowledge and experiences, celebrating local and catchment-wide achievements through both science and arts experience, connecting and enhancing the value of individuals’ efforts both locally and nationally.
