Riverside Connections: River Brent Clean Up
September 10 @ 10:30 am - 2:30 pm
Your River Brent Needs you!
Please come and join us to have fun and help clean up your local river at Quainton Street Open Space! We will be getting into some waders and clearing litter from the River Brent and if you don’t want to get into the water- don’t worry, there will be lots to do on the banks. By clearing the river, we can restore the health of the River Brent and prevent microplastics from entering our oceans.
Riverside Connections: Walking with Nature from Wembley Park to the Welsh Harp is an exciting project that aims to bring the community closer to the River Brent by linking up several green spaces to create a safe and accessible walking/cycling route. Over the next few months, Thames21 will be transforming 0.5km of your local Brent riverside walkway at Quainton Street Open Space by managing vegetation, clean-ups, creating habitat and opening up river views.
Anyone of any age can join, no experience and no equipment necessary!
**Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult**
Equipment will be provided and we ask that you dress sensibly and wear sturdy footwear. We will provide teas, coffees and biscuits but please bring a packed lunch along.
The meeting point is at the gate to Quainton Street Open Space (across the road from McDonald’s).
