Sands End Plastic Workshop
June 16 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Join Brigitta Nagypal and Thames21 for a creative, family-friendly art workshop at Sands End Arts & Community in Fulham on June 16th (Sunday) for a fun afternoon from 14:00 to 16:00.
We will be creating decorative pieces of pottery using a combination of air-dry clay and plastic waste collected from the foreshores of the River Thames, which you can take home with you.
Brigitta is a Fulham-based abstract artist and graphic design student, currently working on her final MA project on plastic pollution in the River Thames. She is keen to raise awareness about this pressing environmental issue and encourage individuals and local communities to think differently and be more sustainable.
In the past few months, she has been photographing, heating, shredding, and melting plastic to explore its potential applications in art and design. She has developed a unique technique for this workshop and is excited to share it with you.
No previous experience is required; everyone is welcome – this workshop is entirely beginner-level. You don’t need to bring anything except yourself.
Refreshments and home-baked cakes will be served. We look forward to seeing you there for a fun art-making afternoon!
