Thames Road Wetland Conservation
18th January 2012
Join Thames21 and learn new skills while you help us and Chris Rose, site manager for Thames Road Wetland, to carry out some of his vital conservation work on the wetland.
The activities will involve collecting plant material to be used on the Shuttle and the creation of new habitats for grass snake egg-laying and lizard basking sites.
Anybody interested in birdwatching might like to bring some binoculars for a quick look around before we dive in and frighten them away! Teal, Chaffinch, Goldfinch, Long-tailed Tits, Moorhens, Black-headed Gulls and perhaps Herons are possibilities.
Tea and coffee will be provided but we recommend you bring along lunch as there is not any shops or cafes nearby.
All equipment will be provided. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
This is part of the River Shuttle project, supported by Bexley Council and Cory Environmental Trust in Britain.
Please contact Joanne Bradley if you need further information.
