Training – An introduction to reedbed restoration
7th November 2012 @ 10:30 am - 1:30 pm
Reedbeds are fast disappearing from our waterways, but the benefits they bring are undisputed. This short session is designed to help ‘non-experts’ spot reedbeds in need of help, and discover new sites where reedbeds could flourish. This session involves a walk along a stretch of canal and river, so please dress for the weather.
The training is linked to Thames21’s Project Reedbed; where trained volunteer surveyors will be assigned to a stretch of the Lower Lea Catchment to walk and then record potential and existing reedbed sites. Those participating in the project will receive resources to support their surveys.
Please note: you must register with the training programme before you can book on to a specific session.
