DESCRIPTION:Unfortunately due to the scheduled heavy rain\, we are sorry to have to cancel this walk. We will re-schedule for another date soon. \n  \nJoin us for a guided walk along the Silk Stream Way. \nWe will start at Simmonds Mead Open Space\, Edgware\, NW7 4JH. This is small bit of green space with a stream running through the middle. Meet near the bridge in the centre of the green space. \nWhat3Words: ///over.price.rounds \nWe will walk along the trail\, through Lyndhurst Park\, the Meads Open Space\, Watling Park\, Silk Stream Park and end in Montrose Playing Fields. \nThere is a cafe in Montrose Playing Fields where we can stop for a cup of coffee and chat if you would like to stay. \nThe terrain is pavements and paths. \nWear trainers and dress appropriately for the weather! \nNearest train: Mill Hill Broadway \n

DESCRIPTION:Join us to turn Oxleas Woods into a flood-fighting\, biodiversity-boosting powerhouse! \nThis winter\, join us for 17 fun and hands-on volunteer events as we transform Oxleas Woods into a thriving wet woodland. Together\, we’ll help slow the flow of floodwater\, protect downstream communities\, and create a vibrant habitat for wildlife. \nActivities include building leaky dams along the river Wogebourne in Oxleas and Bostall Woods. These fun\, practical activities help slow floodwaters and create vital habitats for local plants and animals\, all while connecting people with nature! \nWhere to meet: \nOxleas Woods Café – What 3 Words: reply.bleat.live \nNearest station – Falconwood \nWhat to Bring: \nDress for the weather and the task – long trousers and sleeves are advisable as there are nettles and brambles. \nPlease bring a packed lunch and plenty of fluids. \nWe will bring tea/coffee and biscuits. \nWe will provide all other equipment (including wellies) needed for the event and we look forward to welcoming you! \nEmail charlie.southard@thames21.org.uk if you have any questions. \nAnyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
