DESCRIPTION:Join us for free our Action for Silk Stream monthly volunteering days as part of London Rivers Week 2026. \nPlease book here: Action for Silk Stream LRW Volunteer day – Thames21 Limited \nWe will be in Rushgrove Park\, Barnet \nActivities include balsam bashing and  litter picking. \nBalsam is an invasive plant that we don’t want to see growing along our riverbanks. The best and easiest way to remove it is by pulling it out by hand. It’s easy to spot and easy to pull out. We guarantee that by the end of the day\, you will be an expert in this activity!! No previous experience necessary! \nWhere to meet: \nRushgrove Park\, NW9 6RD \nWhat3Words: ///snows.divisions.steer \nNearest tube: Colindale \nNote – There are no toilets on site. \nWhat to Bring: \nDress for the weather and the task – long trousers and sleeves are advisable as there are nettles and brambles. \nPlease bring a packed lunch and plenty of fluids. \nWe will bring tea/coffee and biscuits. \nWe will provide all other equipment (including wellies) needed for the event and we look forward to welcoming you! \nEmail helen.cardy@thames21.org.uk if you have any questions. \nAnyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
