DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Action for Silk Stream monthly volunteering days. They will be held on the last Thursday of each month. \nPlease book here: Action for Silk Stream – River Action Day – Thames21 Limited \nWe will be at one of our project sites this month either in Barnet or Harrow. \nActivities include litter picking in the stream and surrounding space and vegetation removal. \nWhere to meet: \nMontrose Playing Fields\, Barnet. \nNearest tube: Colindale (northern line) \nWhat to Bring: \nDress for the weather and the task – long trousers and sleeves are advisable as there are nettles and brambles. \nPlease bring a packed lunch and plenty of fluids. \nWe will bring tea/coffee and biscuits. \nWe will provide all other equipment (including wellies) needed for the event and we look forward to welcoming you! \nEmail helen.cardy@thames21.org.uk if you have any questions. \nAnyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. DESCRIPTION:Join us on a free Beginners Botanical Walk as part of London Rivers Week. We will identify wildflowers and plants growing along the banks of the Burnt Oak Brook and the surrounding green spaces of Lyndhurst Park and The Meads Open Space. \nWe’ll introduce the basics of botanical identification\, noticing leaf shapes\, flower structures and other key features that help us recognise common species.
