We believe that the outdoors should be a place where representation matters\, and women feel welcomed\, supported\, and celebrated. Our mission is to break barriers\, build confidence\, and cultivate joy — all while fostering community\, leadership\, and fearless adventure. \n🥾 About the Hike \nJoin us for a refreshing city-meets-nature walk along the Thames 🌊 through some of London’s most scenic riverside paths! This route is a beautiful mix of urban and natural views — perfect for building community and breathing in fresh air together ☀️. \n📏 Distance: ~12.2 km (7.6 miles) — a satisfying\, social walk! \n📍 Route: We will meet at Putney Bridge Station. Click here to view the route we will follow. \n⚡ Intensity: Moderate — suitable for most abilities\, with gentle elevation \n🕒 Time & Duration: ~10am-1pm (3 hour walk – give or take depending on pace & breaks) \n👟 Terrain: Mostly flat\, partially paved\, riverside paths — nice for walking and talking \nBring comfy shoes\, water\, snacks\, and your fabulous self! SUMMARY:London Rivers Week 2026: Guided Walk Exploring the Industrial History of the River Wandle [FULLY BOOKED]
DESCRIPTION:Led by John Sheridan of the Wandle Industrial Museum\, this FREE event starts at Mitcham\, lets you view sections of the River Wandle\, and finishes at the ‘Stableyard’ in Morden Hall Park. \nBooking essential and spaces are limited\, please email John to secure your spot: john.sheridan08@gmail.com \nThe River Wandle is steeped in history. Along this walk\, you will learn about the historical sites of brewing\, flour milling\, papermaking\, textile printing and snuff milling\, together with some former watermill buildings which are still standing. \nDate: Sunday 31st May \nMeet at the bike racks at Mitcham Tram Stop at 12pm. The walk will take approximately 1.5hrs\, will take in Watermeads and Ravensbury Park and end at the Stableyard in Morden Hall Park. \nAttendees are welcome to join for as much or as little of the walk as they choose. \nPlease be prepared with comfortable and weather appropriate clothing and shoes\, healthy snacks and plenty of water.
