Evening Walk at Watling and Silk Stream Parks

August 26 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

This Summer has been a scorcher, but the long, balmy evenings have been a real gift.
Join us for a gentle dusk walk from Watling Park to Silk Stream Park. It is a wonderful time to spot wildlife, with some species settling down for the evening, while others are just beginning to emerge and become active.
Discover how colours change as the sun sets, and tune into the evening sounds too! We will use bat detectors to help us spot bats flying overhead.

We will meet at Watling Park’s entrance on Abbots Road, Burnt Oak, HA8 0RQ

We will walk through Watling Park, to the new wetlands and along the restored Burnt Oak Brook, then cross the high street to reach Silk Stream Park.

This is a gentle walk suitable for everyone. The terrain is pavements and paths. Wear comfortable shoes or trainers and dress appropriately for the weather.

We share a couple of bat detectors and botanical magnifiers with lights.

Don’t forget your water bottle!

Nearest train station: Burnt Oak
Toilet facilities: no public toilet facilities, but there may be toilets at local cafes/restaurants
