Deep Clean 2013
Join us for our annual Deep Clean and help us get to the bottom of London’s litter legacy!
This year, the deep clean will take place over two days in March at the Isle of Dogs.
Vast areas of the foreshore that is normally covered be regular tides will be exposed allowing us to get to the litter that most of us never see.
With the help of volunteers, we have made massive gains at this site, but still plastic bags lurk beneath the river’s surface.
Plastic bags have collected at this bend in the river for generations, weighed down by sand and currents where they break down into ever smaller, toxic pieces, posing a real threat to wildlife.
You can also help your river by Breaking the Bag Habit.
Come and get stuck in and help us make a real difference to London’s river in a fun and safe way.
All ages and abilities are welcome
As always, no prior experience necessary and all equipment provided! Under 16s must be accompanied by a responsible adult and children should bring their own welly boots.
If you would like to come along with a group of colleagues and your party exceeds 10 people, please let us know in advance.
