September 25 @ 10:00 am - 4:30 pm

Become a River Guardian!

This course will give you the skills and confidence necessary to plan and run safe and effective river action events in your community. It will enable you to set up your own River Action Group and contribute to the growing network of groups taking action for rivers across the Thames Basin.

Date: Friday 25th September 2026

Time: 10:00 – 16:30 (please note, on some occasions we may finish the training earlier than expected)

Location: Blue Garage, 30 Engate Street, Lewisham, London, SE13 7HA

Topics covered:

  • Preparing to Take Action for Healthy Rivers
  • Leadership Skills for Community Action
  • Health & Safety
  • Biosecurity

The course will consist of classroom learning followed by a visit to a nearby river (we will not be getting in the river!). If you have any specific access requirements please get in touch and we will do our best to make the event as accessible as possible.

You will receive an email closer to the day with further information on what to bring.

This course is free and open to anyone aged 18 and over. If you are under the age of 18, you must be accompanied by a legal parent or guardian in order to attend.
