London Rivers Week 2026: Stanley Picker Gallery’s exhibition – A Simultaneous Agreement

All are welcome to the Stanley Picker Gallery’s exhibition ‘A Simultaneous Agreement’ presented as part of London Rivers Week 2026. The exhibition officially runs from 22 April to 18 July 2026.
The Stanley Picker Gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday 11am to 5pm (during exhibitions). There’s no need to book a ticket, just drop in.
Rooted in the Hogsmill River beside the gallery, the exhibition traces connections between English chalk streams, Saharan phosphate mines, and global extraction networks, foregrounding water as both a life source and contested infrastructure. At its centre is a functioning glass fountain that filters river water inside the gallery, alongside wearable activated-charcoal sculptures that question the logic and limits of technological purification and circular-economy solutions.
Operating as both exhibition and civic platform, the gallery becomes a consultation space and site for live performance, contributing evidence towards a campaign to designate part of the Hogsmill as bathing water.
All under-18s must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring a bottle of water.
All our events and activities are open to communities.
Corporate groups, please book with Thames21 using our corporate volunteering page
