Hear from Andy Green, co-founder of the Modern Cockney Festival, as he shares insights from his East London upbringing and reflects on Cockney identity and the communities shaped by their connection to the river.

Local historian Jane Parker will delve into the rich history of the Docklands, tracing its transformation and exploring how the river has shaped life, work, and identity in East London.

Historian Richard Yeboah will offer thoughtful perspectives on Hackney’s social history, highlighting community influence, change, and lived experience across generations.

Together, they will weave a compelling picture of place, memory, and change along the Thames from heritage to modern life.
