Waterways for all ages: summer holiday activities

As the school holidays get underway, Thames21 is hosting a range of family-friendly river activities.

At Thames21, we believe that getting involved and learning aboutkent-photonews-derek-hope12 waterways is not only important, but that it is something that everybody, young and old should be able to enjoy and participate in. We find that young people have a unique enthusiasm and openness to the natural world when it is made accessible in engaging and appropriate activities.

This summer we have events on the River Shuttle, Bexley and along Brent Waterways (NW10), as well as angling taster sessions all over the capital.

These different activities offer young people the chance to come and learn about their local waterways and the wildlife that inhabit these spaces in a way that is safe, fun and engaging. Activities include raft racing, bird box building, guided walks and nature treasure hunts.
