London Rivers Week 2026: Family Crafternoon

Enjoy a family crafternoon with South East Rivers Trust at Riverside Gardens for London Rivers Week, learning more about what lives in the river while doing nature art!
Join us:
The Riverside Gardens wetland has been revitalised through re-profiling to create diverse water depths and reconnecting the wetland with the River Cray. As part of London Rivers Week 2026, we are hosting a family friendly arts & crafts afternoon to celebrate the river.
These are family friendly, for young people aged 6 years old and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Younger children can attend, however all activities may not be age appropriate.
What you’ll do:
- River themed scavenger hunt
- Nature art
- River sampling

What do you need to bring?
- Water bottle (filled up!)
- Warm, weather appropriate clothing
- Wear comfortable shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting a bit dirty
Accessibility: Activities will take us off-paths and working on the ground. Some areas may be muddy. If you have any questions about access or physical requirements, please get in touch before the event.
