Pangbourne River Ramble: Walk, Watch, Protect
A free 5km circular walk exploring the Thames, Sulham Brook and River Pang.
Join Dr Claire Robertson from environmental charity Thames21 for a 5km/3mile circular walk discovering the different rivers and streams of the Pangbourne area.
We will start off walking along the river Thames, before turning up the Sulham Brook, and then following the River Pang back into the village.
Along the way, you will learn about our unique local rivers: what makes them special? How can we tell whether a river is healthy or unhealthy, just by looking at it? And what can we do to protect our rivers?
You will have an opportunity to take part in the Big River Watch (19th – 25th September), a biannual nationwide survey across the UK and Ireland building an important picture of the state of our rivers.

The meeting point is close to bus stops and Pangbourne Station is a short 5 minute walk. There is a small car park near the meeting point (Pangbourne River Meadow Car Park)
The route is mainly flat, but there are some stiles. You are very welcome to join for just the beginning of the walk. Please wear robust footwear and dress appropriately for the weather, and please bring water.
Under 16s are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.
