Only Rain Down the Drain

Drain marking is a great way of spreading the word that our street drains lead straight to our local rivers.  Road drains were designed to just take rainwater but unfortunately carry anything else that is washed or poured down them.

Paints, household waste and oils are allowed to enter road drains everyday and this causes pollution of our waterways.

On the May bank holiday weekend Thames21 ran the first ever community drain marking event to take place in England!

Our super team of volunteers marked 50 street drains across the Salmons Brook and Pymmes Brook catchments with our custom designed drain markers.

We will be running a series of drain marking events across Enfield throughout the summer months.
