Action for Silk Stream  – Site Plans

This page outlines the different sites being considered as part of the Action for Silk Stream project. Below is a map of the silk stream catchment and a list of the sites currently on our “Longlist”. This means we are planning some works in that location: works vary from small sections of “river restoration” or large “constructed wetlands”.

We have designed the following site pages to be easy to understand but there may be some technical and scientific language used. Please email us on silkstream@thames21.org.uk if you have any suggested edits. The best way to stay fully up to date is by joining our mailing list.

If you are new to the project then we suggest watching this video on nature flood management, and for those really keen to know the technical detail, see this urban wetlands guide, as this will shape most of our projects sites.

If the site you have in mind isn’t listed then we do not have any activity planned there, if you feel like we should consider somewhere not listed above, please let us know below:

Each site will have a “progress marker” on it, this gives an outline of where we are at with that particular site. Although each stage uses a similar process, the timeframes can be quite different so we cannot give accurate timescales per site.
