Stoneyfields Park
Following more detailed surveys of the site, various constraints have become apparent (including the presence of several significant oak trees) and the team have decided Natural Flood Management will not be feasible as part of this project.
The Action for Silk Stream project team have reviewed the site in detail. Post undertaking site surveys, there doesn’t seem to be any physical option that could be delivered on ground due to site constraints. The park already benefits from the lake that provides flood storage along Deans brook and supports wildlife and biodiversity.
The team is exploring options for smaller scale improvement works including treatment of invasive giant hogweed.
