Are there fish in the Thames?

27th November 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join Thames 21 for this fascinating evening with leading fish expert, Steve Colclough.

The Thames supports over 115 species of fish, many of which have strong ecological and commercial importance. The Thames is a natural pathway between freshwater habitats and the sea, making it vital to the survival and success of many UK fish species.

About the speaker:

Steve Colclough has over 45 years of experience in the water industry. He was a pivotal figure in introducing fish surveys to the Tidal Thames and went on to become a national advisor and widely regarded expert in fish ecology and fisheries management in estuaries, fish ecology in saltmarshes, and sturgeon.

Steve will be talking for about an hour, and there will be lots of chances for questions and discussion. Following the talk, we will be serving light snacks, and there will be plenty of time for networking and enjoying the historic venue.

This event is free and open to all! It is a fantastic learning opportunity, and a chance for volunteers and community members to get together and meet new people.
