Banbury Outfall Safari: Volunteer Surveyor Training*

April 18 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

Thames Water Outfall Safari

Join the Banbury Outfall Safari to help find sources of pollution in your rivers.

Book your place here: banburyoutfallsafari2024.eventbrite.co.uk

Pollution can find its way into urban rivers via surface water outfalls (drains) as a result of misconnected plumbing. We are looking for volunteers to help conduct Outfall Safari surveys in Banbury. This involves bankside surveys of stretches of a waterbody to map and record the impact of outfalls.

The surveys will take place during:

April-May 2024

As a volunteer, you can choose which stretch of the river and at what time to conduct the survey, within the survey period. The survey will be conducted from the riverside path, in areas that are accessible and where the river is easily visible. Training will be provided by ZSL, with the training session taking place at:

Waitrose Community Room, Southam Road, Banbury OX16 2FW on Thursday 18th April 13:30-15:30.

Once registered, more information will be sent to you about how to join the training.

*Please note that this event is run by ZSL and is not a Thames21 lead event.
