River Cray Update

Thames21 volunteers on the River Cray have been enjoying the late summer sunshine this last week as the autumn programme continues.  Last weekend in partnership with NWKCP we hosted two groups of young people on their National Citizen Service scheme; they enthusiastically set about their tasks of creating marginal river bank habitat as part of our project on the Cray at Foots Cray Meadows. On Monday I had the pleasure of presenting a talk to The Bexley Historical society. Later in the week it was the turn of the Adults to continue the enhancement project with some staff from the Environment Agency joining us.

This coming week’s schedule includes A community River Clean up at Crayford Town Centre on Tuesday 16th 1030 – 1400 Meet DA1 4JA, The in Stream Enhancements at Foots Cray Meadows on Wednesday (Full details on the events page of the website) Additional on Thursday we have a dedicated group at Byway 105 Thames Road DA1 4RH from 1000 – 1300 contact me to join in.

Later this Month, Saturday 27th  support is needed for the Big Challenge Day for the National Citizens Service when we again lead in a variety of environmental work a large group of young people at Foots Cray Meadows. Please contact me for details.
