Cray Project this Friday and last week at the Old Mill Bexley

Dear All

Cray Project this Friday and last week at the Old Mill Bexley

Whilst it seems a bit slack with the notification of events in recent weeks we are bringing together a number of project strands which has prevented the publication of a comprehensive event list. We should put that right very soon and I will be calling for a big push to progress the Veolia project at Foots Cray Meadows.

The Thames21 Cray Team at the Old Mill Bexley

Volunteer River keepers have been busy last week at the old mill (see below) and there is again a short notice ask!

We have some planted coir matts which need to be in the river before this sudden burst of sunshine does for the plants.  Meet This Friday 17th April 1030am at Kelseys Kitchen & Farm Shop, DA14 5ET when we can transfer and secure them into the river at Water Lane. This event should last three hours.

The Old Mill Before

As mentioned last Thursday we paid our spring visit to the Old Mill at Bexley Village. A careful preliminary inspection was followed by a general tidy up of the river banks and rubbish removal (surprisingly how much you find once you start) This work does involve retaining a formal element to the river beside the road bridge, but the modified millstream River Cray here is an iconic site enjoyed by all as they pass through Old Bexley Village. In picture three what might Brian and Ron being saying? Humorous answers very welcome!

Fingers crossed for a team on Friday
