London Rivers Week 2024: Fungi & Rivers – The Missing Link – Tues 25th June event
June 25 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Fungi are usually associated with terrestrial habitats, like forests and grassland, but their role in sustaining healthy aquatic ecosystems – including rivers – is often overlooked. This guided walk along the River Ching in East London will explore how wood-decaying fungi are fundamental to the biodiversity and shape of rivers, as part of London Rivers Week 2024.
Join the London Fungus Network to know one of London’s urban rivers, including its natural habitats, the legacy of human engineering and land use, plus the role of fungi in helping rivers bend.
Date and time: Tuesday 25 June, 6.30-8.30pm
Location: Highams Park, E4 9LA
