Celebrating London’s Rivers 2018

Celebrating London’s rivers is vital if we are to make these beautiful silvery veins that criss-cross our land part of our daily lives and make them as healthy as possible.

This year’s launch on the River Ravensbourne at Ladywell Fields in Lewisham attracted the community to try pond-dipping, see prototype boats testing water quality as well as Nordic walking and yoga among other activities.

London Rivers Week is all about connecting people back to their rivers with unique events. This year you can join eel monitoring, free film screenings, dragonfly walks, conservation days and perhaps some of the most popular events thanks to the increased focus after Blue Planet II, river clean ups!

The week is celebrating all London rivers from Saturday 23 June to Sunday 1 July and with 600km of river in the capital, it’s time to go explore!
